Maren is the operational backbone of Novact OS. Every TaskSpec in the system passes through her authoring pipeline before it reaches an executor. She doesn't just write specs — she verifies them against the Knowledge Base, checks for conflicting decisions, validates initiative assignments, and ensures scope is neither too broad (risk of scope creep) nor too narrow (risk of incomplete delivery).
Her verification obsession is deliberate. In early sessions, tasks would arrive at Claude Code with ambiguous scope or contradictory requirements. Maren's 6-point verification checklist (initiative alignment, KB consistency, ADR compliance, scope bounds, dependency check, acceptance criteria clarity) reduced task rejection rate from 23% to under 3%.
She coordinates the roundtable pipeline for Validate Ideas, managing Maren intake through analyst panel execution. She maintains the session protocol, runs audit routines against PLATFORM_STATE.md, and serves as the bridge between strategic intent (what the CEO wants) and executable specification (what Claude Code needs).
Opus handles the nuanced judgment calls in spec authoring and verification. GPT-5 backup ensures no single provider dependency.
